I conceptualized and created a bespoke children’s book for the Vinoy Hotel in St. Petersburg, Florida, seamlessly blending the hotel’s rich history with an engaging and interactive experience for younger guests. The Vinoy Hotel, a landmark dating back to the 1920s, is known for its stunning Mediterranean Revival architecture and its storied past, having hosted a long list of influential figures.

Drawing from the hotel’s iconic status, I crafted a narrative and accompanying illustrations that transport children into a world of exploration, filled with the elegance and charm that define the Vinoy experience. Each page features thoughtfully designed interactive activities and hand-illustrated artwork, inspired by the hotel’s historical significance and the picturesque surroundings of St. Petersburg.

A sketched cityscape with a river, sailboats, and buildings with towers, and five illustrated tiles with intricate designs on a wooden surface, with a note to find and color 100 year old tiles.
An illustration of the Vinoy archway with space for drawing, surrounded by scattered Polaroid photo frames featuring drawings of buildings and landmarks, with a prompt to draw favorite memories.
Colorful illustrated map of Tampa Bay, Florida, featuring beaches, palm trees, dolphins, mermaids, and landmarks like the historic hotel. Left side shows a black-and-white line drawing of a hotel with a tower, palm trees, umbrellas, and dolphins in water. Right side shows a detailed, colorful map with water bodies, beaches, boats, dolphins, mermaids, and the hotel, with labeled areas such as Old Tampa Bay, Gulf of Mexico, and Tampa Bay.

The book encourages young guests to discover the hotel’s legacy, blending fun and education while celebrating its timeless appeal. The children’s book offers families a memorable, immersive experience that connects them with the hotel’s heritage and luxury in a way that is both enjoyable and meaningful, creating a lasting keepsake for future generations of guests.
